Gamer's Club Unlocked in limbo

I ordered some games and the GCU on one order, and created a new profile. Since then, the GCU is still "preparing."

 

The only email I recieved was a "Welcome to Best Buy" email, not the GCU one.

 

I already spoke with the team over the phone, who first kept telling me it takes 24-48 hours. Thing was, I was calling them AFTER that timeframe and they still kept pushing that on me. Eventually they looked up my order, and again started to fight it saying they do not see the GCU on the order. It was clearly there and eventually they admitted to seeing it. They said they would try to fix it, and since I was trying to get things before the holidays, send me a $30 gift card to use to activate GCU in store, but that never happened.

 

The issue, I think, is that my father has the same name and address as me. For some reason, the phone number on the order was set to our old house phone, which may also be on his account.

 

I just want to get this fixed, sooner rather than later. 

 

It is bad enough I had to place a few orders that are not tied to my account so I am missing out on the points for that too.

 

This has been going on since December 16.

Welcome to the forums and thanks for choosing to become a GCU Member. I’m sorry to hear you’re not seeing your GCU Membership activate onto your account, and that you’ve also not received the credit promised by the phone agent you spoke with. That said I’ll be happy to look into this for you.

 

Using the information you registered with the forums I was able to locate the logs from your call, and do show this issue has been escalated to the appropriate team to get resolved. Additionally, the $30 credit you mentioned is to be processed in the form of rewards points posted to your account redeemable for a certificate, and not as a gift card.

 

Please understand that during this extremely busy time of year traffic and the number of requests we receive is greatly increased, which is why this issue is still waiting to be addressed. That said I can assure you that we are working as quickly as possible to assist all our customers, and appreciate your patience while we get this issue with your account resolved.

And how long is this supposed to take?

 

Sales come and go and I get to miss out on what I paid for because of this delay.

It’s disappointing to hear your escalation hasn’t been addressed yet, as it should have been taken care of by now. I’m digging into this to find out what the delay is and what I can do to get things moving forward, and will follow up with you later today once I know more.
