GCU Discount Issue

Hello,

 

I purchased a gamer's club unlocked membership on bestbuy.com on 9/3, and received my welcome email/coupons today (9/4). My rewards overview page also shows that I have a valid GCU membership until 9/3/2019, so the activation appears to have worked.

 

I then went to pre-order Super Mario Odyssey for Nintendo Switch, the game's product page showed that I was eligible for a GCU discount, I added the item to my cart and proceeded to the order placement page when I noticed that the discount wasn't applying correctly. I cleared my cache/cookies in opera browser but the issue persisted. I switched to google chrome and cleared that browser's cache/cookies, and the price was correct on the order placement page. I clicked on "Place Order' but then noticed that the pre-order price was $63.59 once my order went through. My bank account was also charged this amount. 

 

I know that pre-order purchases place a temporary hold charge on your bank account that drops off after a few days, and you get fully charged when the game releases, but will that final price include my GCU discount or will I be charged full retail for it?

Welcome to our forums and thank you for choosing to be a part of our Gamers Club Unlocked team! Super Mario Odyssey looks like a twist on the franchise but a welcome one. I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

 

Since a pre-order only acts as a place holder, you won’t receive the GCU discount until you make the actual purchase of the game. If you see otherwise please don’t hesitate to let me know and I would be more than happy to address it!
