Question About Reaching Elite Membership Status

I'm currently about $82 away from reaching my Elite Status goal for 2017 and still have a few "pending" items that I believe should put me over.

However, a couple of these items are Best Buy gift cards that were purchased either at the store or online.  Even though these are all listed as "pending", I can't tell if they have already been counted towards my member status total or if they are subject to the same 15 day waiting period as an item that could be returned for a full refund.

Is there any way to tell which items have already been added to the member status total? Or is it safe to assume that anything listed as "pending" has not yet been factored in?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Question About Reaching Elite Membership Status

Hello poirot -

With the end of the year just around the corner, this is a fantastic question! It is safe to say that any pending purchases would not be counted towards your tier spending for the year. However, please rest assured that purchases made in 2017 should count towards your 2017 spending, even if an order hasn't been fulfilled or a purchase hasn't posted.

I hope this helps!

Re: Question About Reaching Elite Membership Status

Thanks for the help Tasha!

Just a quick follow up to this post...

Two of my pending orders finally cleared today.  One was an in-store purchase of a $25 Best Buy gift card, while the other was a purchase of around $59.99 before taxes.  (Technically it was $79.98, but I later went back and got a price adjustment that knocked $19.99 off.)

My spending total before these two items cleared was $1418, so I assumed these purchases alone would be enough to put me over the $1500 mark.  However, while the reward points were credited to my account, I noticed that my spending total was only increased to $1424.

So basically, spending roughly $85 earned me credit for spending $6.  I understand that taxes and purchases that were made using a gift card do not count towards the spending goal, but I'm at a loss as to how the system came up with the $6 amount.  Does it simply take a longer period of time for the spending total to adjust after the reward points have been issued?

Re: Question About Reaching Elite Membership Status

Hello poirot -

Welcome back! I'm sorry to hear your spending total may not have updated as you expected. While taking a look at things myself, it looks like it's updated further. After considering your price match and portions paid for by gift card, everything would currently appear to be correct.
