Re: How do I check my Elite stutus (time remaining, $ spent since last qualification etc)

Good morning dmtheblue and RWil9946,

You are going to want to read over my more recent responses in this ongoing thread.  As of right now, I expect the spending bar to be back up on BestBuy.com within a few days.  I actually plan to speak with our program team a little later today in the hopes of getting an update.  You would have had until 12/31/2016 to qualify for Elite and Elite Plus status during the 2016 calendar year.  The reason why the spending bar is down right now is because all spending bars are being reset to $0 with the start of the 2017 calendar year.  If you had Elite or Elite Plus status during the 2016 calendar year and did not requalify then you are likely to see your status downgraded sometime in February.  A private message is appreciated if you or any other member has additional questions about their individual account, which can be sent by clicking on the blue button in my signature.

Thank you for connecting with us and for being My Best Buy™ members!

Re: Hi!!

Greetings agarza7313, and welcome to the Best Buy forum,

As with other members, I am going to suggest that you take moment to read over my more recent responses in this ongoing thread.  All of the My Best Buy™ spending bars are currently being reset to $0 and should be back up on BestBuy.com shortly.  An employee related purchase would not count towards qualifying for Elite and Elite Plus status.  If you did requalify for Elite status during the 2016 calendar year then your status will not be downgraded to core at the end of February/beginning of March when that process starts.  Any additional questions can be sent via a private message by clicking on the blue button in my signature.

Elite Membership not received

I have spent $1,500 last year to qualify the Elite Membership, but somehow I am not Elite Member this year.

I was going trought the forums, it would automatically update within 20 days of spending over $1,500.

I have spent that much more than 20 days ago, but I am still just regulr best buy member.

Please check and let me know what's keeping me become the Elite Member.

Re: Elite Membership not received

Hi uaejjang,

Welcome to the Best Buy forum!

I have had the goal of reaching Elite status ever since it was first introduced but fall short every year.  As you appear to have read, it can generally take up to 20 days after spending the required $1,500 for a member's status to be upgraded to Elite.  A private message would need to be sent if you believe that you have qualified for Elite status during the 2016 calendar year but your status has not been upgraded after 20 days.  I can manually upgrade your status if I can confirm you did in-fact qualify.  To send a private message, you would first want to login to the forum and then click on the blue button in my signature that is labeled "Private Message."

I hope that you have a great weekend, and thank you for being a My Best Buy™ member.

Elite Status for 2017

I definitely purchased over $1500 for calendar year 2016 and think i may have purchased close to $3500 however no elite status us showing for 2017.  When does that appear?  I have already made purchases in 2017 and am only accruing at the My Best Buy level.  Any way to know when my status will change?

Re: Elite Status for 2017

Hi karendom,

Welcome to the Best Buy forum!

Please take a moment to read over some of my more recent responses in this thread regarding the 2016 spending bar.  If you did in-fact spend the required $1,500 or $3,500 during the 2016 calendar year, then your status should have been upgraded within about 20 days.  Please keep in mind that sales tax and any portion of a purchase that is paid for with a gift card or certificate is not included.  I do see that you made a larger purchase at the end of December, but it was paid for with gift cards.  That means the purchase would not count towards qualifying for Elite or Elite Plus status.

If you or any other member has questions about their 2016 calendar year, then do not hesitate to send a private message and we can take a closer look.  A private message can be sent by first logging into the forum and then clicking on the blue button in my signature that is labeled "Private Message."  I would just ask that you include your basic account information, such as name and email address.

Best Buy Account Not Showing as Elite

Hello,

I recieved a notification in December of 2016 stating that I was close to spending $1500 in the calendar year and that I needed to spend $283 to reach Best Buy Elite status. Between Christmas gifts and a 100$ gift card purchase I spend well over $300 and should have been granted elite status. Unfortunately, my account does not say that I reached elite status. I shop at Best Buy mostly because of the point system and to not be granted elite status after I spent the required amount of money is disappointing. Is there anything that Best Buy support can do to assist me?

Re: Best Buy Account Not Showing as Elite

Hi Ragehazzard,

Welcome to the forum! Please take a moment to check out some of the most recent responses to this thread as it contains some helpful information concerning the 2016 spending bar.

Generally once you've made a purchase that has pushed you past the thresholds for Elite or Elite Plus status ($1500 and $3500, respectively), your account should be updated in approximately 20 days. However, you should keep in mind that sales tax and portions of purchases paid for by reward certificates or gift cards would not count towards these thresholds.

Please feel welcome to send me a private message, if you still believe you should have qualified for Elite status. You may send me a private message via the link in my signature below.
