Elite Progress Bar disappeared today

Hello,

 

I noticed that the Elite tracking progress bar was removed today (similar to how it's removed during the BF events).  I saw it there yesterday and was logging in today to check on my progress spending and noticed that the bar is gone.  Since the progress is tracked on a calendar year basis can we please have this added back in ASAP?

I noticed this too!  I was right at the edge of renewing Elite Plus again so I bought some random movies to edge over.  Bar disappeared!  Now the suspense.  I know I spent enough but talk about the timing.

Good morning everyone,

 

As I mentioned on page 6 of this thread, the My Best Buy™ spending bar was going to be temporarily taken down again like it was a few weeks back and like it has been in past years.  This is something we hopefully shouldn't have to do next year with the new 3rd party that is helping us manage the program.  You should see the spending bar back up within a couple weeks.  In the meantime, here are some key points to consider when it comes to your spending bar:

 

*  It can take 20 to 35 days for an eligible purchase to reflect within your spending total.

*  Any portion of a purchase made with a gift card or certificate will not be included, as well as sales tax.

*  A purchase is not likely reflected in your spending total if points for the purchase are still pending.

*  While your bar is likely to reset to $0 on 1/1, any eligible purchase made during the 2016 calendar year should count.

*  I have NO way of manually adjusting a member's spending bar.

*  If you believe that you have qualified for Elite or Elite Plus status and your account has not been upgraded after 20 days, then send me a private message and I will review your account.  I can manually upgrade your status if I can confirm you have spent the required amounts.

 

If you want to double check your spending total with the end of the 2016 calendar year just one day away, then feel free to send me a private message.  For those who have been actively checking their account please keep in mind that your total has not likely changed all that much.  You would have until 11:59 PM central time on 12/31/2016 to qualify for a higher status.  A private message can be sent by first logging into the forum and then clicking on the blue button in my signature.

Where is my YTD Elite Status?

 

Is there a valid reason Best Buy tries to hide this info from it's loyal customers at the end of the year?

 

I, like many others, want to understand how close we are to the Elite level to understand if we will qualify for the next year.

 

Please keep in mind, and let your marketing team know, I purposly purchase from Best Buy due to; 1 - Local, 2 - the Best Buy rewards program. 

 

If Best Buy is trying to hide this from the customers in hopes they will not reach the next level,  I'll just give up and start purchasing elsewhere.

Greetings dstevek, and welcome to the Best Buy forum,

 

Please read over my response from earlier this morning.  The spending bar has been taken down at the end of each calendar year for as long as I have been monitoring the My Best Buy™ section of the forum, which has been the past four years.  It is generally taken down while our program team performs some year-end maintenance.  That includes resetting spending bars to $0 and downgrading those members that did not requalify.  We hope to avoid this process going forward with the new 3rd party that is helping us manage the program.  The spending bar should be back up in a couple of weeks.  Please feel free to just send me a private message like a lot of other members have and I will see what I can do to help.

When do pending purchases take effect?

I'm just below the annual purchases requirement to qualify for for the Eilte Plus Rewards program. With my pending purchases, I will definitely have enough to qualify but I don't think they will be approved by the end of the year? Once those pending purchases go through, are they retroactive to the purchase date or do they only qualify on the date they are approved?

How does one know when they have spent enough to continue next year with elite plus? They website was showing a bar / graph type icon but now it's nowhere to be found? A lot of customers like myself are obsessive about this sort of thing. I can certainly say that if I'm going in blindly from now on, I'm not going to stress all year without knowing until it's too late if I am continuing through 2017!

Great question with year end upon us.  From my understanding as long as the purchase is done between 1/1 to 12/31, even if pending to post, it will count towards your year to date spend.  A mod may have more details.

Please take a moment to read over my recent responses in this thread regarding the current status of the My Best Buy™ spending bar.  The information ChristyB75 provided is correct!  Any eligible purchase made between 1/1/2016 - 12/31/2016 up until 11:59 PM central time should count towards qualifying for Elite and Elite Plus status during the 2016 calendar year whether or not points are pending with the start of the 2017 calendar year.  It can take up to 20 days for points to officially post and for a member's status to upgrade after having spent the required amounts.  The spending bar should be back up within a couple weeks.  Please feel free to send me a private message, by clicking on the blue button in my signature, if you have any other program related questions.

How do I check my Elite stutus (time remaining, $ spent since last qualification etc)

I used to be able to check it. There was a bar that would fill up as I spent more money etc.
