Missing/Miscalculated Rewards Points; Rewards cert issued today expires today

[ Edited ]

Tried filling out the Report Missing Points form but it failed.

Order: #{removed per forum guidelines}

Subtotal: $2,479.97

First, I was issued a $20 rewards cert today, but it also expires TODAY.  WTH.

Second, the rewards history only shows 1239 points for a purchase total of $2479.97.  But the elite tracker says "You've spent 2479".

I'm not sure if one large transaction pushes the whole thing into elite level or if it's step based, but we'll go with the latter.  I also don't know how things are rounded, so I'll round per standard (>50).

Let's work this out:

regular level: $1499 * .5 / 250 * $5 = $15 certificate

elite level: $2479 - 1500 / 250 * 1 * $5 = $20 certificate

Assistance appreciated.

Looking back into the certificate, and it does expire in 60 days rather than today.  My mistake.

Re: Missing/Miscalculated Rewards Points; Rewards cert issued today expires today

Good morning cbrasfield and welcome to the forum -

Not seeing the rewards you anticipate after such a large purchase would be pretty disappointing, especially if a certificate was showing to expire the same day it was issued. With that said, I'm glad to hear that you're now seeing an appropriate expiration date for your certificate.

As for your points that were issued, please know points are issued based on your tier status at the time of purchase. Even if a purchase pushes you to a new tier, you would be awarded points for that purchase based on your tier at the time of purchase. As such, it appears you were correctly awarded points at a rate of 1 point for every $2. Now, as a an Elite member, you should earn at a rate of 1 point for ever $1. Please keep in mind that points are awarded based on whole dollars spent, so your purchase of $2479.97 would be awarded points based on $2479, not $2480.

It appears that 1000 of the 1239 points that you were correctly awarded were converted to a $20 certificate, leaving you with a balance of 239 points. If you should have any questions, please let me know!

Re: Missing/Miscalculated Rewards Points; Rewards cert issued today expires today

Since the purchase doesn't doesn't gradiently tier with the rewards levels (which is a golden opportunity for better customer service), I'll return part of my purchase and reconsider buying - maybe not; it was fairly expensive and it remains unopened.  This has been my first best buy purchase in a while and while I'm happy with your support, this does irk me. I urge BB to revisit this policy.

Hello brasfield -

I'm truly sorry to hear you feel this way. Please keep in mind that your return and exchange period would also fall under your tier status at the time of purchase, so you would be outside our Return & Exchange Promise at this time. I apologize for any further disappointment that this may cause you.

Regards,
