Membership Status

I'm wondering why my status did not change from elite to elite plus. I'm pretty sure I spent more than $3,500 in 2017.

I appreciate you reaching out to us with your concern. Our Elite and Elite Plus statuses on a My Best Buy account brings with it a lot of great benefits. Among those includes extended return periods, access to exclusive deals and discounts, and more. 

 

It looks like you're well versed on the thresholds to reach Elite or Elite Plus, but as a refresher I'd like to inform you that in order to reach a specific status you must spend $1,500 and $3,500 to attain its pertinent status.

 

That said, I used the email you provided during your forums sign up and can confirm that your account is currently in Elite Plus status. There is nothing else that needs to be done on your end and all the benefits that come with this account status are now currently available.

Hi, I was checking my account and I noticed that my reward status has changed. I went from being an Elite Plus member down to an Elite member. Why did my status go down?

Hi Trinity_1,

 

David is out of the office on Friday, so I am jumping in to see what I can do to further assist.  We have started the process of resetting the status for members who did not requalify for Elite or Elite Plus status during the 2017 calendar year.  Could that explain why your status went back to Elite?  It looks like David was showing you had Elite Plus status back when he looked over your account in Jan.  As far as I can tell, the only way you could have reached Elite Plus was if you had spent the required $3,500 during the 2017 calendar year because you had Elite status for most of the year.

 

Did you process any returns or prices matches involving purchases made in 2017 after the start of the 2018 calendar year?  If so, then that could have dropped your spending total below $3,500 and reverting your status back to Elite.  There isn't anything I can find that would have caused your spending total to drop.  With that having been said, I will be sending you a private message shortly so that I can go over your My Best Buy™ account with you in additional detail to ensure it is up-to-date.  To read a private message, you would want to click on the envelope at the top of the page.

Elite Plus Points

Hi,

My account has been fixed and I'm back to being an Elite Plus member, but I noticed that the points I received for tv stand that purchase was not adjusted. Is there any way I can get that adjusted?

Hello again Trinity_1,

 

As an FYI, you don't need to create a brand new thread when you have a question that pertains to a topic we have already addressed in another thread that you created.  You can post in the same thread.  Also, if we have already gone private, then you can just go ahead and send a follow up private message.  It looks as if points for the order you are referring to are still pending.  It can generally take up to 20 days for points from an eligible purchase to officially post to a member's account.  That time frame would start after a BestBuy.com order has been picked up or shipped.  If you feel that points have not posted to your account correctly after a full 20 days, then send me a private message and I will see what I can do to further assist.

Ok, thanks for the information. My points posted, but the points were not adjusted to reflect my elite plus status.
