Extremely Unhappy customer- beware of the credit card "rewards"

I have had the absolute worst experience with Best Buy in only 8 months. I have left feedback, called customer service, and nothing has been done so I will share my story here as a beware for other customers. I am the "elite" status with my credit card, but have yet to reap any benefits, and it looks like i will have to spend over $500 more to even get started actually receiving certificates...?

 

8 months ago, I opened the visa everywhere card to make a purchase at best buy- I did an online order to pick up in store. The store absolutely refused to release the item to us and would not let us load it into our vehicle (it was a tv, and we have an SUV- it would have fit). They INSISTED on a refund/rebill, which not only cost my the first purchase card bonus rewards, but I paid MORE in the rebill because of the taxes, and the store would not adjust (not even in the name of customer service). Now, I am finding out that this refund somehow put me in the NEGATIVE for -400 points? This is like saying I owe $500? I let it go at the time because I did not know I was negative, I just thought I was losing the bonus- which is still quite a sacrifice to be honest.

 

After spending well over $3000 on elsewhere purchases with the card and accumulating over 2000 points in the past few months, I still have not recieved a single dollar in rewards certificate points. I do have the auto-redemption set at $20 which is 1000 points, but I have accumulated over 2000 points, it shows this on my overview page, and yet no certificates? I call customer service to ask about this, because I do not understand why I am not getting rewards for the thousands I have spent. 

The agent says I am -400 points and cannot receive a certificate. Okay, but how am I negative 400 points still, I have not used ANY points on rewards? This card has been the worst card decision EVER and I could have gotten so many benefits with ANY OTHER CARD.

Screwed over multiple times.

 

On top of this,we waited and hour and a half in a line of 3 people at customer service to pick up the thing, that they refused to release to us, AND the delivery that the store INSISTED on was more than 5 hours late, blocked my driveway for another hour after the delivery, and consisted of ONE GUY SLINGING A 55" CURVED TV OVER HIS SHOULDER AND DUMPING IN MY LIVING ROOM??? But they refused to let us secure it in my SUV trunk??

 

-cost me bonus rewards for first purchase

-unnecessary refund/rebill

-terrible delivery service

-terrible store service

-saying I owe 400 points but I haven't used ANY rewards

-refunded and rebilled the exact same item but made me pay more in rebill 

-customer spends over $3000 with card but does not receive ANY rewards certificates

 

AWFUL.

Thank you for being a My Best Buy member and Best Buy Visa cardholder! Having this card should offer some exciting opportunities so it’s incredibly discouraging to hear you’ve been left so frustrated.

I’m sure you were quite excited to pick up your new TV several months ago when you opened the Visa. It is quite strange to hear the store would insisted so strongly for you to have the TV delivered rather than picking it up. While we do offer delivery services, plenty of customers find store pickup to be a more convenient option. To hear that the delivery didn’t go smoothly after your experience in store is disheartening. I’m truly sorry for the trouble you had with purchasing this TV, and for any subsequent issues with your points.

Speaking of your points, it is bizarre that you would have been left with a negative point balance. When a purchase and then return is made so quickly, the same amount of points awarded should be easily deducted. Even when a negative point balance is correct, points should still be earned and accrue normally, eventually bringing the point balance positive.
