Elite Status not showing up

I was going through my account today, because I thought I'd spent enough this year to be an elite member.

According to the site you have to spend $1,500 to be an elite member in one calendar year, and after adding up all my purchases I've spent $1,846.75 plus other pending purchases.

How long will it take before I get Elite status, and when will I be notified of that?

Re: Elite Status not showing up

Hello again Mavsfan41,

I am also trying to reach Elite status before the end of the 2016 calendar year but will likely fall short.  To qualify for Elite status, a member would need to spend $1,500 on eligible Best Buy purchases within a single calendar year.  It can generally take up to 20 days after spending the required $1,500 for a member's status to be upgraded.  Please keep in mind when adding up your purchases that sales tax and any portion of a purchase that is paid for with a gift card or certificate is not included.

From what I can see, you were about $550 short of $1,500 prior to orders you placed last week.  I can take 20 - 35 days for an eligible purchase to reflect within a member's spending bar.  As of now, the spending bar has been temporarily taken down.  You can read more about that in this thread.  Even with the orders you placed last week you would appear to be about $50-ish shy of $1,500.  You do have until the start of the 2017 calendar year (1/1/2017) to qualify for Elite status before your spending total resets to $0.

If after spending the required $1,500 your status is for some reason not upgraded to Elite within 20 days, then please feel free to send me a private message and I will see what I can do to further assist.  A private message can be sent by first logging into the forum and then clicking on the blue button in my signature that is labeled "Private Message."  I hope that you enjoy the rest of your day.

Re: Elite Status not showing up

Would you mind if we talked in a private message please? Because like I said I come up with a different amount, and I'd like to see which purchases aren't counting if you don't mind.

I get last weeks haven't posted yet, but I still had a different total before that.

Re: Elite Status not showing up

You don't need my permission to send a private message, especially when I end up asking most members to send a private message.  Please do keep in mind that I have absolutely no way of altering your spending total.  If a member believes they have qualified for a higher status by spending the required amount, even though our system shows otherwise, then I usually suggest that they send me a private message.  I would basically just go through each purchase adding up the pre-tax total excluding any portion that was paid for with certificates or gift cards.  I did that before replying to your original question.  A private message can be sent by clicking on the blue button in my signature.

Best Wishes,
