Certificate Created I Didn’t Request

I just checked my account and noticed 5,000 points missing. They mysteriously converted to a $100 reward, yet that reward isn’t even visible under My Certificates nor do I have an email that one was generated. I verified that I have Point Banking selected. Need the points back, not a reward.

It's good to hear from you again, though I wish it were under better circumstances. We do our best to make sure keeping track of your rewards is super simple! It's strange to hear that a certificate may have been generated without your authorization, and if you ultimately aren't even seeing it as available. I'm truly sorry for any confusion or concern this may have provoked. 

To secure your account, I would encourage you to change your password to your BestBuy.com account, as well as the password to your email account. As for the certificate appearing, there may simply be a processing delay preventing the certificate from appearing. Please know that I'm reaching out to our support teams to take a look at things to determine whether this is likely the case. I'll be sure to follow up with you right away once I have more information.

I hope you are doing well! When having our support teams look into your account, they were able to refresh your certificates. You should now be able to see this $100 certificate on your end. If you need any further assistance, please let me know.

I do see the certificate, but want to know how it was generated without my knowledge when I have Point Banking selected and my login hasn’t changed. Never received any confirmation email like I normally do when they’re created.

I’m just going to keep the certificate since it’s valid for so long, but the auto-generation part has me concerned along with the fact it didn’t show up properly without support having to do a refresh.

Thank you for your help on getting it to show up.

At this time I would be unable to provide an exact reason for the certificate's creation. I did suggest changing your password in case your login credentials were compromised. As I see you had several other certificates generated the same day though, it's also possible you encountered an error during one's creation and the system just took time to catch up.
