24/7 Elite Plus Line/Price Match

What good is a 24/7 line when you can't do anything or get services you want 24/7? What services are actually offered to speak to someone live? This ties in with the Price Match Guarantee. I tried to Price Match an item but was transferred to a voice mail saying store was closed. Of course the next day prices changed it was towards the end of a sale. Retail prices are constantly changing in today's fight for sales. There are very few items, if any, that are going to stay at a lower sale price for multiple days. Now I have an item from Best Buy I'm going to reluctantly return. I wanted to get the sale price at Best Buy and return to Amazon. But that's not going to happen because price matches are not really "guaranteed" and there's no way to reach Best Buy even before purchasing.

Generally speaking, price matches on store purchases should be requested and processed in store while BestBuy.com orders may be requested by calling our customer support teams at 1-888-237-8289. I wasn't unaware how to contact Best Buy, you're just not open 24/7.  It would be costly to have support 24/7 but the 24/7 Elite Plus hotline seems to advertise customer support before you realize that support is extremely limited.  If I remember correct when the 24/7 line first came out and there was a personal shopper support there was more access.  I'm not sure why 24/7 hotline is needed for MyBestBuy topics only.  Why would anyone need to call at 2am to resolve a MyBestBuy issue?  

 

I guess price matching is tricky because of how fast prices move up and down with online retailers.  Even with Best Buy prices can change day to day.  Ultimately I wanted the sale to stay with Best Buy but at the price I found at a competitor.  I also realize Best Buy can go so far down in price before reaching a loss that is not beneficial to their business.  The 15% restocking fee will be a bummer but I'll still make that up with the price from Amazon.

Many of our sales last from Sunday through Saturday, though we do have some shorter sales. I'm sorry for any disappointment that this may cause you, and if it ultimately changes your shopping destination. Additionally, please keep in mind that we only price match competitors at the time of sale, not during the return and exchange period.
