Washer/dryer installation- expected more from best buy

I just moved out of state with three kids and was supposed to have a washer/dryer installed the day after I moved in. In the same spot the previous owners had theirs, I was told it would be a fire hazard, and void the warranty if they installed it. Since they left- I scheduled HVAc and a plumber and noone seems to understand the problem. When I called for clarification-I was told there were no notes made on the order, the techs couldn't be reached, they would call me back. I called several.times and have yet to receive any clarification on the problem. I have a second team coming a week later- and hoping for the best???

Re: Washer/dryer installation- expected more from best buy

Hello MRSK,

After moving to a brand-new state, I’m sure the last thing you wanted to worry about is the installation of your washer and dryer. I’m sorry to hear your recent service didn’t go as I imagine you would have hoped, but I’m glad you’ve shared your experience with us on our forums.

Using the information you’ve provided upon registering on our forums, I see you’ve been rescheduled for this coming Friday, August 11th. I’m hopeful your next installation will go much smoother than your first, however, if you should run into any additional issues, don’t hesitate to post again and let us know.

Please know I’ll be documenting your feedback here at our Corporate Headquarters for further coaching and training opportunities as well, so we can hopefully avoid a similar situation from happening to our customers in the future. I realize it won’t undo the disappointment you’ve already gone through with your first installation service, but I truly appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience.

Respectfully,

Re: Washer/dryer installation- expected more from best buy

So we continue to have issues with the washer/dryer purchased and installed by Best Buy.  I have learned that "free" installation means wharehouse installers and installation you pay for has professional installers.  Be careful! This seems like a trick to me but explains why we had to wait weeks and spend money on electricians and plumbers before someone could figure out how to install our washer and dryer.  With that said, I have been complaining about the shaking and banging since September.  It was never fixed and I was told it will shake because it is on the second floor.  This was stated on the work order.  I called today to say it has gotten worse and the issue that we complained about before, within the warranty time, is STILL an issue.  They cannot help me; I am hoping someone who reads this can.

Re: Washer/dryer installation- expected more from best buy

Hello MRSK,

Welcome back to the Best Buy Community forums. A loud, shaky laundry machine can be a big disturbance, so I’d like to see if there’s anything we can do to assist you.

You mentioned that your appliance was still under warranty. Is that a Geek Squad Protection Plan, or a manufacturer’s warranty? If it is a manufacturer’s warranty, it would be best to reach out to them directly for assistance. If you have a Geek Squad Protection plan, please send me a private message, by using the link in my signature below this post.

Please include your name, email address, and phone number in that message so I can look it up. If you are unsure if you have a Geek Squad Protection plan, please send that message along and I’ll double check for you.

Thank you,

No. I am not currently under a warranty. This was an issue I tried correcting under warranty. This was clearly an installation issue as there is nothing wrong with the machine itself. I hope this clarifies.

Re: Washer/dryer installation- expected more from best buy

Hi again MRSK,

You can send along that message through this link. If you purchased the appliance last August, you should still be under a manufacturer’s warranty at least. Once you send along those details, I’ll check into it for you and see if there is any coverage remaining.

Sincerely,
