Terrible delivery service Bethesda MA area

Whatever local delivery service you sub out to in the Bethesda Maryland area, should be fired immediately.

 

We have so far scheduled two delivery days and had people waiting to receive our refrigerator both times.

 

The first time, the delivery person came to the building with a yellow unmarked truck, not wearing anything that would identify him as a delivery person for Best Buy and entered our building via the lobby without the refrigerator.  He was met by a staff member. He stated that the item he was supposed to deliver would not fit on our building's elevators (it would), demanded the use of a non-existent "service elevator"  and then when our staffer was confirming at the delivery person's request that there was no "other service elevator LEFT WITHOUT EVER UNLOADING THE REFIRGERATOR OR INFORMING HER HE WAS LEAVING.

 

The second time, today, the delivery person phoned at 8:30am to say that he would be at the building in half an hour.  This time we had two staff members waiting to receive the refrigerator.  There was no delivery truck, no delivery person identified themselves as such, no delivery person arrived at the building with the refrigerator and although, according to the delivery person's "report" they waited in the lobby from 8:55 until 9:10 (the lobby is not that big and there is no part of it that would be hidden from the view of anyone else waiting in the lobby), NO CALLS WERE MADE TO EITHER OF THE TWO CONTACT NUMBERS THEY HAD to confirm that they were at the building, AND THEN THEY "LEFT", IF THEY EVER WERE HERE, AGAIN WITHOUT APPEARING WITH A REFRIGERATOR.

 

IT IS CLEAR THAT THIS PERSON DOES NOT WANT TO DELIVER OUR REFRIGERATOR. YOU NEED TO HIRE DELIVERY PEOPLE WHO THINK ACTUALLY DELIVERING THINGS IS THEIR JOB. It may be that the item is too heavy for one person, it may be that it is difficult to get off the truck, it may be that this person's delivery route does not allow adequate time for unloading or installation.  WHATEVER THE PROBLEM IS YOU NEED TO FIX IT.

 

We are in the process of "kitting out" out new offices and were thinking about buying several large ticket items from Best Buy, but until this delivery issue can be resolved we will look elsewhere.

When our delivery partner doesn’t act in manner that’s professional it can negatively impact Best Buy’s image. I’m sorry to hear that this may have happened with your recent refrigerator delivery attempts. I’d be happy to review your delivery to see what I may be able to assist you with at this time. I am delighted to report that Erin (removed per forum guidelines) of Geek Squad Client Care was able to take care of us and reroute delivery for the very next morning. 

 

Erin's response was exemplary.  I am only sorry that it had to come to her needing to intervene with a very routine delivery.
