Fridge Delivery

On April 7th 2017, I purchased a Samsung Refrigerator from the Best Buy located at 1100 Old Country Rd in Westbury NY. I was told and I later confirmed my delivery for Wednesday April 12th between 8 AM and 12 noon. I took half a day off from work to be home for this delivery, but at 1PM, when the delivery guys had failed to call or show up, I was forced to leave for work. The delivery eventually showed up at 1:45 PM, nearly 2 hours after the end of the delivery window. My wife was home to let the delivery guys in, however, they said they were unable to figure out how to shut off the main water line and therefore were going to be unable to install the fridge. They insisted they had to leave the new fridge in my garage. I was able to leave work and arrived home at 2:45PM to try and help the delivers shut off the water line, but they had already left. I called 1-888 BEST BUY to see if they could come back, but they told me no. I have to wait until Friday April 14TH for them to come back and I have a new window time between 12 pm and 4PM. This is all completely unacceptable. Either someone comes first thing tomorrow morning to install the fridge they left in my garage or I want to return the fridge.

Having our team delivery a big appliance should be a great way to get your new purchase home without the stress of moving it yourself. It’s clear to me things did not go as planned if we arrived later than anticipated, and I truly apologize for any frustration undoubtedly caused, especially since it sounds like it caused some problems for you at work.


While we wouldn’t be able to get someone out to your home today as requested, I pulled up your service record using the information associated with your forum profile, and I can confirm your service date for tomorrow, 4/14.  If you have questions regarding this though, I’d suggest reaching out to your case manager, James. He is an appliance delivery specialist, and he would be in the best position to address your concerns.

Buying a refrigerator and having it installed by the company you buy it from is commonplace. All the companies( P.C Richards, Home Depot, Lowes) I checked out before buying my refrigerator from Best Buy offered installation at no additional charge. Please do not patronize me by suggesting that installation of my appliance is an additional service not common when purchasing a refrigerator. Your company needs to do a better job fulfilling its sales contract if it wants big item purchasers of appliances to return
