Dryer install didn't happen nor was everything delivered

Can someone explain to me what my recourse is. I ordered a new dryer from a Best Buy store. It was delivered on time. However the delivery personnel said ops can't install. We will call you tomorrow as you have the wrong hose. You need to go buy a new one. I ran to the store and gues what- the hose I had (gas hook up) was fine! I called them because they also never left the vent hook up I was forced to buy. I got the run aroun. Hung up on 2 times! Transferred to geek squad who couldn't help me. Told that it was too bad and the installers know what they are doing (interesting because the installers told me- we just delivery and do simple hook ups you'll have to sort this). Okay so what now- I can't get them to help and I certainly don't trust these so-called installers. I called a plumber. He looked at the hose box and asked where a part in the box was. It wasn't there. He went to the store and bought the SAME hose and did the hook up. I paid him. How do I get back my money for the unuasable hose and the missing vent NOT delivered! Bye the way. I will NEVER buy from Best Buy again. The delivery was one issue (as these installers obviously just wanted to go home) but to get run around and hung up on when one calls service- never again.

Just to be clear the gas hose (with the missing part) was purchased with the dyer and delivered with the dryer. Same with the vent connection which was never delivered. And I was never angry or rude with customer service - they just didn't know how to do anything or could bother to care. Oh and they were supposed to call to rescheduale installation which they never did! Nor apparently could I Rescheduale when I called them. So literally one has no options. Why bother to pay employees or your outsourced supplier?

Purchasing an appliance as adult is almost comparable to Christmas morning as a child. It’s discouraging to hear that your installation didn’t go as planned, and you may have some loose ends that need to be tied up.

 

When purchasing an appliance that is gas a secondary appointment may be need to made to help you connect the gas to your unit depending on your geographical location. Gas installations require a certified individual to be able to connect your gas line for you. I apologize this may not have been articulated to you at the time of purchase.

 

I was able to locate your purchase, and delivery notes using the information you provided upon registering. It was noted your installation couldn’t be completed, and necessary parts weren’t brought with. It’s discouraging to hear that you had to call a plumber to help you can connect the gas line.

 

On your behalf, I’ve reached out to your local Best Buy to see how we can best assist you moving forward. Once I hear from them I’d be happy to follow-up with you.

I think you are ignoring the point entirely and I strongly suggest condescending launguage about Christmas for adults is removed in your future responses to customers. I purchased the parts from Best Buy. One was delivered and didn't include all items in the box. The other (the vent kit) was never delivered! When I tried to call multiple times I was sent to multiple people and even hung up on twice. I have paid the extra amount for a plumber (150$) who didn't need different parts- just all of them. I did this out of frustration and concern for Best Buy installer capabilities- let alone my utter dismay with the appalling lack of customer service. I want credits for both the dryer vent kit and the defective gas hose. I would like to know how this will happen with limited impact on any more of my time and certainly without further expense.

Like I stated prior, I’ve reached out to your local Best Buy to discuss your delivery with them to see how we’d be able to assist you moving forward. Once I hear back from them I’d be happy to share any, and all options present to remedy this matter. Also, they may reach out to you directly to discuss this as well. 

 

Please know I’ve also filed a complaint on your behalf here at our corporate office to address any training opportunities that may be present.

So I took my Saturday and went back to the store. They very nicely credited my account (albeit I haven't seen the credits actually go through on my credit card- odd I must say but I have the receipts that show the credit. Can always dispute it). Turns out the instal wasn't free as I thought and there was a 20$ charge. That also had to be credited. Good thing I caught that as I reviewed the credits vs original receipt. Store employees are great. The rest awful! This thread didn't help at all. Other that to (a) warn others- which if funny you have such a forum and (b) hopefully corporate sorts something out for the sake of your future business. You surely won't have one for long.
