Delivery service unacceptable.

My wife and I reside in Calgary Ab Canada and on January 1 of this year we purchased a combo washer dryer (Haier) online. We paid immeadiately with a credit card and were issued an order number and a follow up email. So far so good. I was contacted to verify a delivery date (chosen arbitrairly by Best Buy) as Feb 22 2018. Ok 6 weeks to get us out purchase, not great but fortunately we were not in a rush. When the item finally arrived it had been damaged in transit and I refused to accept it. lI was informed that I would be contacted once the item was returned to the warehouse. 8 days later that still had not happened so I attempted to assertain the status of the order online. Despite supposed linke that would direct me to a form that I could fill out, the website links are inactive. I then spent nearly 25 minutes on the phone. first going through that ridiculous auto andwer system with redundant questions then with a CSR who could provide zero information. I explained the situation in detail and asserted that the failure to at a minimum, contact us and inform us that the item had been returned and that someone (preferably provide us with a name of some one assinged to the issue) was working on a solution. I also informed the person to whom I spoke that they needed to contact my wife as it was her that had mede the purchase, I was merely the contact for delivery schedule as issues. 5 days hence my wife has still not recevied the requested call. She spent a further 25 minutes attempting to contact Best Buy for an update. After finally speaking to some one she was told that she had not been contacted because they were still awaiting a solution. I have a solution....we should have been offered a refund of the delivery cost at a minimum and some information regarding the delay. Since we were not how about Best Buy refunding 100% and lose a customer permanently. You are not the only game in town. I await you response. But rest assured that I will be posting an accurate and full review of this transaction regardless of the outcome..

Re: Delivery service unacceptable.

Hello Acicle,

Welcome to our Community. In my view, shopping for appliances is really hard work what with the diversity of features available. After making a selection, the delivery and installation should be painless and efficient. I'm discouraged to hear that your experience did not live up to your expectations and I regret any inconvenience to you.

With apologies, this Community is intended for our U.S. customers. Please contact Best Buy Canada for further assistance with your concerns.

Thank you for writing to us.

Re: Delivery service unacceptable.

Thanks for the reply. I would think that as the parent corporation and the entity who's name is sullied by the actions of a division, you may wish to be aware.......despite the fact that there is a contact us link in bestbuy.ca website.....it soes not function. To wit.....when you click on it, you are directed to a sub menu which is to determine the purpose of your communications. clicking on the subject (and yes I did try them all regardless of the fact that my issue was a lack of communication and is niot specifically listed) you are then directed to a page that contains FAQ's. No where is there an email or forum link where you can submit a written complaint. The only way to contact Best Buy Canada is to spend an inordinate amount of time on the phone sorting through endless menus, designed to discourage callers from following through no doubt. I and my wife attempted to communicate via this method and wasted a combines total of over an hour with zero results. I wish to send a written complaint to someone who is actually concerned and understands customer retention, or alternatively, I will find a PUBLIC review forum and post a detailed report of tis situation and let future customers (which I will no longer be) decide whether or not they wish to do business with a corporation that has as it's sole concern, profit. I appreciate you time but once again, if you are unable to steer me in a more productive direction, the die is cast.

Re: Delivery service unacceptable.

So the final chapter in this story is complete. I received notice that my appliance would be delivered Saturday March 10 and that I would receive a call on Friday March 9 and be provided with a 3 hour window. To summarize, no call on Friday. Saturday AM I was woken up at 8 and advised that my delivery would arrive within 15 minutes. I realise that this is an American site and I am also certain that as the parent company, you have INPUT into the decisions made by Best Buy Canada. Since I received as much assistance here as I did from the Best Buy Canada, I have made my last purchase from either. Kudos on turning away another loyal patron with nothing more than an arrogant unhelpful attitude.
