After waiting 3 weeks for my refrigerator, Best Buy changed the delivery date on DAY of delivery

My husband and I purchased a refrigerator online on July 15, 2017 after our refrigerator stopped working.  The scheduled delivery date we were given was August 7th. - Not great -but we decided it would be okay since we were expecting guest from Australia on August 10 and that would give us a couple of days before they arrived.

 

I patiently checked the status of the delivery almost daily, hoping it might be sooner, but the August 7th date remained.  On August 6, I received an automated phone call from Best Buy telling me the refrigerator was scheduled to be delivered the next day between 8 am and 12 noon.  My husband arranged to be home for the delivery.

 

On August 7th, my husband received a phone call from Best Buy stating  that the refrigerator would NOT be delivered that day.  Apparently there was some kind of miscommunication with the Chino warehouse and the delivery would not be made until August 11th-  A day after our company arrives from Austraila!  My husband asked for the phone number for the Chino warehouse to see if someone could tell him where our order was.  After being transferred and hung up on three times, he finally reached someone named Sandra whose advice was to go the a local Best Buy store and pick out a comparable model and arrange for delivery. My husband stated he did not want to do that but nevertheless he received a phone call from the warehouse stating that even if he did find a comparable refrigerator, they would not be able to deliver it until August 11th.  

 

At this point, we would like someone to tells us WHERE THE REFRIGERATOR IS.  Is it in your warehouse, is it on a truck, where is it and why no one advised us of the delivery status change until the day of delivery.  Three weeks is a long time to wait for a refrigerator delivery that never arrives.  Best Buy has left us in a difficult situation and the customer service communication is worse than poor. Hey MarySaccoccio,

 

Welcome to our forum, and I am honestly sorry that this refrigerator was not delivered on the date you were initially scheduled for. Given you have guests coming into town tomorrow I can certainly understand why you are upset by how this was handled. After looking into this it looks like the reason the unit wasn't delivered on 8/7/2017 is because we hadn't received it from the manufacturer yet as this was a Special Order Appliance.

 

I do see that this unit is now at our warehouse, but the soonest delivery date we had was 8/11/2017. It does look like an agent attempted to get you a sooner appointment and there are no sooner appointments to get you. I will check on this delivery on Monday 8/14/2017. Let me know if there is anything specific you would ask of me.

Hi MarySaccoccio,

 

I looked at your work order today and I show we did attempt the delivery this last Friday, but I see the unit was damaged. From reading the notes it looks like we are working on getting a non-damaged unit, and once we have that in stock we should be scheduling this to be delivered. I will continue to check on this.

I looked into this again and I see this is now scheduled for Wednesday 8/23/2017. I will check on this on Thursday 8/24/2017.
