i got my xbox about a year and 3 months ago and starting about 5-6 weeks ago, when playing rockband, it started becoming fuzzy but nothing to worry about. and 2 days ago  when starting my xbox, it just doesnt show anything. xbox starts fine. and runs perfectly except for the audio/visual. ive tried new cords from friends and new tvs. but nothing seems to work. i dont really feel like spending money on a new xbox and 100$ in downloadable content... and i dont have a warrenty >.> something tells me its a lose cord or chip within the xbox that just popped out when transporting my xbox from my dads to my moms house but i dont want to really mess around with that. O.o any suggestions?

First off you've switched cords, but do you use the Tv for anything else?  If so do you get picture/signal fine on those sources?

Failing that, if you have a system with an HDMI port on it, then try to find someone who has an HDTV and try hooking it up via HDMI.  If you need a cable, check monoprice.  You can get them for dirt cheap there.

If that doesn't work or you decide not to do that... then chances are you've got a paperweight.  In any case you don't need to spend 100$ in DLC, you can just keep the HDD and switch it into the new system.

ah thanks. ill try the HDMI port. the tv works fine for anything else. if that doesnt work im just gonna get a new system. i hate the time its taking though O.o

If you log into your XBOX account via the web, you can transfer the content licenses of your current content to the new console. This is permitted once a year.You have to enter your old serial number, and enter the new one.

If you log onto anyones XBOX console under your name, you can download the content to their hard drive, and use your content so long as you stay logged in.
