Oooo... Forgot about CoE. Although its not directly made ONLY for kinect, I thought it was awesome with kinect. With a controller it is kinda lackluster

Yeah, really wanted to play it with Kinect. I enjoyed it enough on controller. Just felt like REZ to me which isn't bad. Though I hear CoE is much better on Move. I own it on PS3 too, but didn't get a chance to play it with the Move. My friend has the Move, but battery was low and we were gonna watch something so pass.

Re: Motion Gaming Explained

I just set up my Kinect last night. I am kind of small (I'm a 5'2" woman) and I noticed that it picks up movement better with a lightly lit room. I originally started with the light above me turned off, then incidentally turned it on and it was a lot less choppy.

I played a couple rounds of Kinect Adventures and I was pretty impressed. I have to stand pretty far away from it, probably about 7 feet, otherwise it struggles to pick up my movement for sure. I think I'll get used to the timing and calibration as I use it more.

All in all, it's pretty awesome. Can't wait to get my Dance Central on!

Re: Motion Gaming Explained

Did you get the gunstringer/fruit ninja with it? If so play some gunstringer, it is surprisingly fun and simple.

You are correct. It does take a lot of room, but is worth it especially for Dance Central and drinking combined. Nothing like a bunch of white boys (in my case) that can't dance making a fool of themselves.

Re: Motion Gaming Explained

I happened to download the Dance Central demos, and tried it last night. My boyfriend said to me, "you have never been so unattractive before" and "I am so embarrassed and ashamed that you are my girlfriend right now." Hahahaha, that's love, right?

He was just jealous of my awesome moves!!! We plan on getting those since they are fun with friends and drinks.

I got Kinect Adventures and Carnival Games: MSMD. Kinect Adventures is kind of fun and I haven't tried the Carnival Games yet. Good to know about Gunstringer and oh, I love Fruit Ninja on my iPod. I'm sure it'll be awesome on Kinect, but for $15? That's kind of steep...

I'm getting used to the Kinect sensor and am glad I finally got one!

Re: Motion Gaming Explained

Gunstringer comes with fruit ninja. Kinect adventures is just showcasing the basics of kinect.

Carnival games wasn't that good at all after playing other games. It had bad detection and games that got old quick.

Gunstringer was my surprise game as its simple, fun and a good game.

Fruit ninja is just one of those games you fire up after your boyfriend calls you I attractive and "accidently" karate chop him instead of the fruit. It's fun for a while type of games. Great to break out for short gaming periods.

CoE was good, but in a different sort of way. Kinect made it much better than the controller.

The game the intrigued me the most was Rise of Nightmares. Overall a luck luster game. But it was a game built solely around the kinect and as such showed the possibilities of what the kinect really could do if devs decided to make major titles purely around the kinect. It made your in life reactions translate to in game. It played off what your real life reactions would be if you really were being attacked, which shows a bunch of promise.

My daughter really liked kinectimals. It gets repetitive, but it allows those kids without pets to have something to have fun with. If you want to check it out the demo is basically like 1/3 of the game and has hours of playability.

The new star wars was very, very disappointing. I had such high hopes as they could have gone so many different ways. Let's just put it this way, part of the game is dancing. Like Just Dance 3 dancing... Really?!?! They basically strung together other popular kinect games (joyride= pod racing, dancing , etc) and slapped star wars skins on it.

If I really had to choose just one then I would say dance central. It's detection is top notch and makes you REALLY dance. Not just semi mimic motions. Hip out of place, it will tell you.

Once Upon A Monster is actually pretty good if you have goin ones.

Joyride is decent.

Most of the fitness games are pretty well done.

Forza is good with kinect.

Sonic freeriders is bad.

Also many large devs are adding voice support to games. ME3 came with it. Skyrim just had support added and many upcoming games are adding it.

I'm waiting for a really good boxing game to come out.

That's a great overview of some the games Kinect has to offer.  Thanks for the detailed synopsis Jimi.

Re: Motion Gaming Explained

Thank you for this post. I love the Kinect the most because it's the only TRUE hands-free gaming experience using Kinect games. Very cool!!

Re: Motion Gaming Explained

have you tryied star wars kinect?

It's fun but don't over do yourself.

Start with the Galactic Dance Off.:cathappy:

Then do pod racing.

I fought in the pod race the nice way and lost.

Then I fought mean in the pod race and won.

It takes practice though in jedi destiny.

It is a ongoing game.

You go through a walkthrough learning all the moves.

The last thing is the rancor part there are various ways.

To go around tearing the sceenery up.

The important thing is to have fun.

And to take breaks so you don't over do yourself.

Its even better on the limited star wars xbox360 console. :catvery-happy:
