Sorry you had a bad experience, but you should've done your homework. Or at least visited one of the thousand plus sites that had coverage of the Apple announcement on Wednesday.

No matter what any store tells you they are NOT doing a true preorder. You'll get a gift card and a name put on a list with no garuntee that you'll get one on Friday. The only for sure way you would be able to get one on Friday is if you preordered it from the Apple website a couple of days ago.

You wouldn't have gotten cash anyways..because if you pay more than $500 cash they mail you a check.

And 3 tablets in less than 2 weeks?!?! geezz

I guess this was one of those cases of IF " I don't have anything NICE to say" ...

we will just move "what you do say" to an area where it will never be seen and effectively censor your post, sort of thing...Right?

My Best Buy called and cancelled the pre-order they were doing (where you buy the $50 gift card) and told me it was Apple who told them they could not do it. The store manager who is a friend of mine also told me they tipped her off as to what they were sending: ONE of each model.

So, it looks like I'm getting up at 4am to try and get my hands on one. It's either that or wait til June.

That's the most discouraging thing I've heard today. I was expecting low numbers but... Although technically I guess that's 9 iPads. 3 wi-fi only, 1 of each capacity for AT&T and one of each for Verizon. I understand the marketing, but sooner or later I think there's going to be an apple launch where some denied customer(s) goes nuts and it makes the news in a negative way, like that Walmart employee that got mowed down for black Friday. That is, if it hasn't happened already, this is my first apple product launch, I was oblivious to them in the past.

I would be very disappointed if there were only one for each model. Best Buy is the only large Apple retailer in the area. A lottery type of system wouldn't be fair to the people who waited in line longer than everybody else. It should always be first come, first served.

I think I may go to novi or westland, thinking maybe westland will be close to verizon in case I need to go there
