I live in Canada and I was interested in buying the Asus G50VT X5 laptop but I can't seem to find a place to purchase it.  I checked bestbuys in the US but not many carried it.  Also I don't mind buying online.

The G50VT is discontinued, which is why it's hard to find. Remember that Futureshop is also owned by BB, so check with them too

If you're referring to the laptop featured on www.bestbuy.com/gamersunplug, it looks like it's only available in stores...and there aren't many left.  When I used the tool that shows store locations with stock, none of the six Best Buy stores in my area had any....so if you find a US store with any at all, I'd move quickly.  Good luck.
