Thanks Josh-BBY. I ordered on Dec 30th and I'm impatiently waiting.
There's a Sony reader Forum for all of us that are getting Sony Readers. The Sony hardware is fantastic but the library software can be a pain. So if you're having problems, don't return it. I just spoke to customer service on the phone regarding this and they are telling me that there is still no anticipated shipping date and they do not even have any idea when they will be receiving it. In fact the person I spoke to was surprised that there had been anything posted on here about shipping dates.
Can someone just give us a straight answer? Had I cancelled this when I initially thought about it I would have received one from Sony already, I find it hard to believe that no one can even give us an accurate date when this will be shipping.

I agree....I've called several times and cannot believe NO ONE in that company knows when these devices are shipping. Very frustrated. This will be the last product I buy from BestBuy. I can deal with the wait...just don't lie to me.

There are several places online now that say they have it in stock and are shipping within a day or two of ordering. I will give BB a day to give me a definite date, after that I'm cancelling, I'd rather have the reader in hand tha the $40 savings and all the frustration.

Like I said, I'll give them a day but after that I'm switching. I'm not holding my breath for today though - my credit card still hasn't been charged and the order status is still "backordered". At the very least they could throw in overnight shipping free of charge, and SD card, or something for all the frustration.

I will see if I can get a time, I will make some calls. I was assured the 19th and that it was okay to share publicly.
I'm sorry that this seems to still be up in the air. I will do what I can to get more info.
