Usually a BSOD screen contains much more information. In many cases the file where the fault occured is identified, which can sometimes allow "common" BSOD causes to be identified. For example, a lot of Dell laptops with Bluetooth modules bluescreened with an error in a file "tosrfusb.sys" which indicated that it was the Toshiba Bluetooth drivers that were causing the problem. Updating the drivers would fix the problem.
In other cases BSODs are a lot harder to narrow down. For there to be any chance of identifying the problem, you'll need to provide a lot more information - Computer brand and model, detailed hardware information (what video card? what CPU?), and more complete text of the BSOD. Even with that information, sometimes BSODs are difficult if not impossible to track down and the only solutions are to nuke and repave Windows (and if that doesn't work it is indicative of potentially faulty hardware).
