I have a dilemma, what should I do?
My son bought a Toshiba laptop 15 days ago. Today (14 +1) the network section failed, as verified by the Geek Squad.
Warranty repair is not a problem EXCEPT my son is a Marine officer, and TOMORROW he ships overseas.
I thought I had a plan, where I would buy a replacement computer TODAY, for him to take overseas, and I will keep his repaired machine myself; it is a nice computer.
The problem is Best Buy will not sell me a replacement because they can't find the unit that their stock shows in inventory, and they will not sell their display.
The sales person, the manager are all "sorry" because they can't help, but I can't find the same machine in stock, or a way to ship the repaired laptop to an overseas FPO that won't take weeks AFTER the repair.
What can I do differently? Does Best Buy have such lack of inventory control that they can't sell me what is shown on the floor, including the the display unit?
I'm frustrated and out of time!

they do have control over their inventory, it's just that the system they use can be off by one or two meaning it will tell them they have one and they do not. as far as the display goes, they cannot sell it unless it is discontinued.
