Laptop Video Card questions

Hello All!

I just recently bought a Sony Vaio VGN-NS190J and I love it to death.

But one thing I am worried about is the video card. It is a Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family. Integrated, I know. For some of the high end games I have great specs for them. I have enough Video Ram, my 3D acceleration is good enough for the games I want to play. My vertex shdaing and Pixel shading are pass the minimum specs for the game to. RAM,  CPU speed is way past the requirements.

Its this Video Card that stops me. So I went to a friend that worked for Sony, he pointed me towards a Express Video Card. He said it could be linked up through the "iLink" in my laptop.

So I was wondering if this is possible? And is there anything I can do to get these games running.

Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Laptop Video Card questions

I am not sure Best Buy sells them, but I could be wrong, I would check their site first, if not, check online!

Short of a new laptop with dedicated video memory, you could possibly turn down the graphic settings on the game, and then the game should run on the lower settings.

My opinions are mine, and mine alone.

Re: Laptop Video Card questions

I found a few but I find more cards than information on these cards. If anyone has any information on Express Video Cards it would be greatly appreciated!

I did a quick search again and still have not found any ExpressCard Video adapters on BestBuy.com or BestBuyBusiness.com; I welcome links if we sell it on our sites. [Please do not post links to competitor sites, they are removed.]

You may also consider contacting the manufacturer to see if upgrades are available directly through them. Or, if you are still within the return/exchange policy you may consider finding a laptop with features more suited to your needs?
