Re: Kindle Fire cannot connect to wi fi

If you do not have a wireless router connected to your cable modem, then yes, you will need to purchase and install one.

The signal you are trying to connect to is someone elses' wireless signal, and they have it paswword protected.  It is illegal to use someone else's private wireless network without their consent.

Suggest you but a wireless roueter, and teach yourself how to set it up and secure it.  If you just leave it open, anyone will have access to your network.

If you have a smartphone, you might create your own wi-fi hot spot to connect your Kindle Fire....Check the specifications of your phone.

Re: Kindle Fire cannot connect to wi fi

You would need a data paln for your phone, as well as having tethering authorized,  Even then, there is a data cap on such accounts.

Re: Kindle Fire cannot connect to wi fi

For wifi connectivity either you should have wireless router or you will have to be in the range of any wireless network( it might be password protected)
