Maybe someone here can help me? I have formatted the whole drive of the Insignia Windows 8.1 Device (NS-15MS08) for Windows 10 development purposes. The only problem I seem to be having is now I can't seem to find drivers for the device! I have checked windows updates, and I have checked the Hardware ID's against google to no avail. I am now back on Windows 8.1 and still all I have Wifi and Bluetooth working and nothing more! The touch driver's seem to be "goodix touch HID"; however, there doesn't seem to be a download for it anywhere. Perhaps we can get the recovery partition dumped or the drivers uploaded? I'm really more careful about how I proceed before doing a clean wipe of a drive, but NEVER before have I encountered drivers not being readily available from the manufacturer or Windows updates.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!
There is no back up pre-install image due to there only being 16GB of flash. In the event the original Windows version was not backed up, I am truly sorry but there is not an Insignia solution. We do have copies of the image but because they contain 1 free year of Office 365 we cannot distribute them.
Unfortunately formatting the image on the tablet to load a technical preview voids the warranty.

So i did some digging around in the WIM for my own driver mis-adventures and found a directory called filerepository with INFs and drivers galore. I'v included everything dates 2014 onwards (everything else looked like MS drivers from 2013) except the Intel Video driver which should be pretty common (was a beast at 175MB...) I'm pretty sure the answers you seek are in this zip, don't ask me to tell you what you need to install i'm gonna leave that up to you.
Anyways i posted it here

The capacitive windows button needs some sort of direct driver or registry change i guess to work? I have an unbranded bestbuy 10 inch tab which i reinstall windows but couldn't get that to work after loading a saved driver set backed up using double driver.
Would be great if insignia can provide the installation file for the HID for the tablet...

Agreed, We need the home button installation file. I have wiped mine and upgraded to Windows 10 used the driver pack and all was smooth except the lack of the home button. We can not install Windows 10 as an ugprade on this device as we will never have enough drive space so only a clean install will work. Also has anyone been able to sucessfully remove the recovery partition from the factory image? Doing so here has crippled the device each time and I had to restore from USB.

do not try to ever remove recovery partition as it is used to boot directly from compressed files within that partition.... under disk management you will see that c: has a wimboot label to it in addtion to other labels.... wimboot is a relatively new method of windows installtion that leave files compressed on recovery partition and boot from recovery partition... this saves about 3-4gb so win8.1 can fit on 16gb storage.... google wimboot and read more about it...'
as far as getting the capacitive button to work my suspicion is that all it needs maybe just a registry change... i copied the whole driver filerepository folder off system32 dir in windows b4 fresh install. all the drivers then install fine... so i dont think we r missing any driver file. i m guessing just a reg change.... but good luck getting that from insignia....
