Computer Problems..ADVICE needed

I bought my computer from amazononline its the ACER Aspire One mini*pink* laptop.. windows xp..

my computer was running great when i received it and started it up for the first time.. MY brother went on downloaded limewire and then it started acting crazy.

so i decided to uninstall it and be done with that was my thought... i was wrong.. my computer would act up here and there , barely noticed that it was acting funny.. well then this april 1 worm thing going around i had at the time MCAFEE and obviously didnt prevent anything destroying my computer. so then april 1st came and i uninstalled mcafee and called my cable co ( time warner ) and they offered virus, spyware etc

protection so i installed that and now my computer is still acting crazy and its worst than before...

When i foirst received my computer it was great, windows started up fine,no problems.......

now .. forget about it!... when i turn my computer on in the morning, afternoon or night it takes windows

10 mins to load ( black screen with windows xp displayed and the small box with it loading )

when the user screen appears to choose which user to log in ,. it plays windows music well that dragggggs ,even when im on a website that has sound that dragggggggggs...

so ever since april 1 my computer has been screwed up... Well atleast on MY USER , now my bf has his own user name but we never logged into his but since my user log in would take forever to load and or do anything i been using his user login, but i deleted my user and all its folder & contents and im still having the same problem except its a tiny bit better but no where near to when i first bought it.

WHEW>...... So what i want to know is.... by using the F11 to recover ( if my comp allows it ) will that work or would i need and or be best if i  take it to geek squad? ..How much would it cost?

If you recover to factory settings? Yes. You probably have a virus and/or tons of spyware from limewire.

F11 is the best route to go in this case, Geek Squad could do this for you but it would be mighty expensive otherwise.

Re: Computer Problems..ADVICE needed

To do an Operating System install is $129.99.

I would try to do a system restore first though, to be honest.

Glad to hear you got rid of the waste of space that is McAfee. There's a reason we don't carry it anymore(at least my store).

I'm NOT an employee of Best Buy, or Geek Squad, though I did work as an Agent for a year. None of my posts are to be taken as the official stance that Best Buy will take on your situation. My advice is just that, advice.
Unfortunately, that's the bad luck of any electronic, there's going to be bad Apples... wait that's a horrible pun.

They're probably all tracking cookies, which are harmless and normal.
