Best Buy doesn't carry the highest-end Lenovo Yoga 720 15"

[ Edited ]

Hi Best Buy,

I wish you could add to your lineup the highest-end Yoga 720 (i7-7700HQ 1TB PCIe SSD, Lenovo Part Number: 80X7003VUS).  Currently, this 1TB SSD version is only for sale through Lenovo.  But I want to buy it through Best Buy.

{removed per forum guidelines}

I'd be extremely grateful if you could possibly look into adding this high-end version.  Another great option would be if a special order is possible.  I've done special orders a few times in the past through Guitar Center and Circuit City (RIP), so hoping you guys might have a way to do it as well.

Thanks,

Scott

Re: Best Buy doesn't carry the highest-end Lenovo Yoga 720 15"

Hey CaliforniaScott,

Thanks for taking the time to post! Love the name, I myself used to live in California for a good 10 years.

I could see why you would want us to carry the Yoga 720 with the 1tb hard drive. That would be a pretty sweet gaming/media machine. I checked on the website and we only have the Yoga 720 512mb with the i7 and 16gb of ram. The storage on that device is not as high as the one you want but I imagine the ability of the device is on par.

With that being said, I am not familiar with any special order ability through our computer department but, I would recommend that you visit a local store and see if there is. As I work in vehicle electronics I am not 100% on the department. But hang tight, there may be a moderator by to give you an official response.

Thanks again for posting and welcome to the community!

Was the question answered click solution and kudos the post?!

Re: Best Buy doesn't carry the highest-end Lenovo Yoga 720 15"

Thank you for the welcome!

The 512GB SSD by itself would simply be too limiting for me. Windows 10 and a minimized set of my programs would eat up just over half the drive space. Just over 200 GB for new apps and media file storage is way too limiting, considering this will be a long-term laptop buy.

Hope to see an official moderator reply soon!

Thanks,
Scott

Re: Best Buy doesn't carry the highest-end Lenovo Yoga 720 15"

Actually I have a 128 GB SSD on my gaming laptop and windows, office 2015, and all the basic programs only take up about 55 GB on my SSD. However, it also has a companion 1 TB 7400 rpm hdd.

Unfortunately an official moderator is not going to be able to discuss new or coming products until they are officially announced or in the pipe.

On a personal note I would find only havign a 500 GB SSD to be very limiting. I use my laptop as a gaming computer anr for managing thousands of photos my family takes annualy, and eventually I filled up my 1 TB HDD and had to remove old games and transfer photos to a jump drive.

To be honest you could spend less money for a more powerful and versitile computer. You just would not be able to bend it around for use as a tablet and use your fingerprint.

However the Yoga in and of itself is a very awesome machine.

Re: Best Buy doesn't carry the highest-end Lenovo Yoga 720 15"

Well, the ability to change between laptop / tablet + i7 quad core + 4k + SSD is the configuration I've been waiting for.

I understand not being able to comment on future products, i.e. If people are probing for details on the iPhone 8.

But the 1TB SSD Yoga 720 is not a secret. It's available today through Lenovo, in fact they have quite the holiday deal going right now ($1,498).

I suppose I'll visit a store today and ask about a special order, though I have my doubts if its possible.

I would hazard that if that particular model is only available via Lenovo right now that is because Lenovo wants it that way.

It most certainly is a smoking fast machine.

You should take a look at the 1 TB model. Not to much more expensive

It was as I expected; the store has no way to order a model that's not in their system. And they don't have a way to request a new item through Best Buy corporate.

I was just in a BB and played around with the 910.  Pretty slick machine. However, that one has the high powered hardware backing up Intel HD Graphics.
