Would an AMD Turion processor be able to handle games like GTA IV and Crysis?
And would a Hp Pavilion dv6-1260se notebook could handle games?
Here are the specs:

No. The Turion is AMD's answer to the Celeron.

NV2, for your price range, i'd check out either the asus G51VX-RX05 (http://bit.ly/d4Ujf) or the asus G50Vt-X5 (http://bit.ly/12OYHf). both of them feature an intel core 2 duo processor, so you won't have to worry about having enough raw horesepower available for gaming. also, both of them feature a discrete graphics card, and that should translate to smooth gameplay.

I gotta ask, whats up with these "marketing" posts by Drew-Intel? I mean, they practically need an "this is an advertisement" disclaimer on them.
In fairness, was AMD offered to have a "Mark-AMD" person on these boards, as a balance? Is Intel paying Best Buy to have this person on here posting? Or vice-versa?
I think its only fair that the "community" be informed fully of the relationship...

Hi Argy46254,
Currently, Intel is one of the few vendors to express interest in participating in this Community Forum. If AMD was interested in participating I would welcome discussing that opportunity with them. I'm sure that would make for some lively debate in the Forum!

Not to nitpick, but the processor in question is the Turion x2 ultra. It is NOT positioned to compete with the Celeron, but rather the Core and Core2.

Oh, I was thinking from back when Athlon was still around and they were the cheaper alternative to Athlon.

Turion has always been the mobile variant of AMD CPUs.
You're probably thinking about the Sempron, Nokia. The Sempron is AMD's equivalent of the Celeron.
The Turion is the equivalent to Intel's mobile line - initially equivalent to the Pentium M. (Nowadays, while Intel has separate mobile and desktop product lines, the branding is the same - Core 2.)

You're right, I got the two confused. I went from Athlon XP to Athlon 64, so I never knew anything about the lower models.
