My son ordered the toshiba laptop model L505d-S5983 and it is backordered. I am trying to find out if this laptop will be available soon. I called Best Buy last night and they said they could not talk to me since my son ordered the laptop. I paid him the money for it and he put it on his credit card. Just last week a customer rep talked to me about the laptop. Its not listed for sale on Best Buy web site any more. So what is going on? I need a time frame of when I will receive this laptop. It is to be shipped to my address. I am not happy.

More than likely if it's not on bby.com anymore you are not going to get it. You will probably receive a long sting of e-mails stating your product is back ordered until they finally send you one that says your order was canceled. This is one of the worst areas of BBY service, that they don't know their own inventory levels. If I were you I would start looking at something different to purchase.

If your son actually ordered and paid for it in-store then he was given a ship date that it would either be arriving for in-store pick-up or a beginning date that it would be shipped to your house ( Jan 10th - Jan 18th ) etc. Since it was paid for upfront the only thing that would stop you getting it would be if Toshiba stopped producing it and Best Buy totally ran out at all its stores - otherwise Best Buy will do its best to fullfill your order. You can usually talk to someone directly by calling the store and they can check the status of your order for you. Hope this helps a little.

It is a retail kit exclusive to Best Buy as far as I can tell so if it isn't on their website, they aren't selling it anymore. Just go get a refund and buy something else.
