Neophyte needs to know if all in one print scan functions are degraded with low ink supply.

i have an all in one printer and nothing has gone wrong with the printer or the reading, although a few pappaper jams but all my fault. you should proboly try refreshing the ink status page in the printer software, or try reinstalling the ink cartidges. the only down side is that if you do not have an inkjet printer or and office jet printer or a laser printer then the all in one printer will use a lot of ink. esspecially when printing photos

Scanning functionality is never reduced, its scanned digitally in high quality and stored as a digital copy on your computer. However the output from the printer, well of course its going to look low quality if its low on ink Doesnt change the overall quality of the image scanned on the PC though.
