how do i find a longer lasting battery for my new notebook?  all i know is that my laptop is an hp I don't know where to look for the model # or anything and every # I put in has come up as unknown.  All it says is on it says hp Pavilion dv4-2145dx

Your laptop comes with a 6-cell battery. The only other OEM battery for it is a 12-cell. Part number is KS526AA.

You can get the appropriate battery at any Best Buy store. They carry them in the inventory.

The website says that, and it may be a recent change, but I've gotten that battery and others in the stores. I bought mine at the same time I got my laptop at Best Buy and I bought one for my dad's new HP laptop last week at one of the Best Buy stores near my home. Other retailers carry them too as part of these HP Accessory stands they have in their stores.
