network adapters

Hello,

I have DSL through Fairpoint. My mac is connected via a linksys router.

I would like to hook up my Dell which runs Windows xp.

What do I need for a wire network adapter?

Thanks!!!!!

Re: network adapters

If by "wire network adapter", you mean something to plug your Dell in for internet, then you shouldnt need anything more.

Your Linksys router shold be able to have your Dell plugged into it with another ethernet cord.

Now that I think about it, you may not have an extra ethernet cord - that's what you'll need to buy then. (lol)

Re: network adapters

Ahhh ok. A simple USB wireless adapter, like this one from Netgear, should work just fine. For the most part, setting them up is pretty straight-forward with the included software.

Re: network adapters

I currently use a wireless usb adapter that was made by cisco and lynksys for my connection to my charter cable internet. if possible you should get one that is at most a wireless N. and maybe the same brand as your router for best compatablilty.
