I broke my laptop's screen so I can no longer see anything on it. If I buy a monitor, will I be able to see the information from my computer on the monitor, and what would I need to connect it? Could I type on my laptop and the information would go to the monitor? I really need to know. I have been without a computer of my own for over a month and I need it for my business and my tax information!

That is okay. I don't have an Apple! It is an HP, 15.6". I do not want to spend a lot on a monitor because even if I have to stand outside Office Depot with a sign saying, Don't buy a computer here because they are liars, I will get a new computer and they will download everything on it for free by the time I am done. I am really fed up with them.

I am being told I can get a monitor and hook it up right to my laptop. One of the people giving advice will probably be answering you. Go on the main sight and aske a quesion under the heading of computers. It will surprise you how helpful they are! This is to use to get things off my computer and trying to get my computer replaced under the warranty I PAID for!

Sounds like a cracked screen...most laptop screens, especially Sony ones, will run you well over $200 with parts and labor.

Any monitor nowadays will work, it'll just come down to having the right cable. The easiest thing to do to ensure no issues when you plug the monitor in, is to have an extra USB keyboard and mouse plugged in, close your lid, and you will by default see the image on your external monitor.
