Hi I purchased this computer in December and as of yesterday it will not allow me to go onto my profile. Let me be clear I have not changed any settings and I have not changed my password. I would just create a new profile except for the fact that the profile that isn't working is the admin. and therfore the system requires my (the admin.) password to create a new profile. When I try to log on I get the message "the user profile service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded." just for fun I tried a incorrect password "the username or password is incorrect" is what came up on the screen. The computer knows it is my password yet it will not load.

I contacted emachines and they told me I could do a factory reset however they also told me that since my computer was pre-loaded with vista that I would have to spend a ton of money to purchase the o.s. because vista will be gone.

Please do not take offense but, did you reboot?

Do you have any backups of your system?  I would think that there would be a backup (restore) CD that was included with your system?
