i would like to purchase a dell studio 17 from Best Buy, but it does not come with Bluetooth connectivity. Is it possible to get bluetooth connectivity on the laptop before i purchase it from best buy. Also is any other customisation available before purchase?

You are correct, there is not built-in Bluetooth on these models.  However, there is a simple, affordable solution if you don not mind having an occupied USB port:

Rocketfish™ - Micro Bluetooth USB Adapter

Most of these models are not customizable, but this is a small adapter which should not get in the way.  Let us know what you think!

is it at all possible to get any form of customization done? Do these models come with backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader? Is it possible to get in graphite grey?

No--these are computers made specifically for Best Buy.  What you see online is exactly what you can get.  If the specs do not say 'Backlit Keyboard', it does not have one.  They all have the software so that you would think you have it, but apparently "all the Dell Studios are shipped with the software, but all do not have the hardware."  Probalbly because they are mass produced in Malaysia.  The only way you can tell if you have it is to try the software and see if the keyboard lights.  So much for hi-tech knowledge. The colors are all shown as well, and that is all they have at that time.  The only way to get the exact specs you want is to order it through Dell.
