Re: considering ASUS

If you want to get it, you'll need to upgrade the graphics for decent gaming performance as that computer is intended to be a simple entertainment desktop and not to be used for gaming. That's an extra $150 or more added to your cost.

Re: considering ASUS

the system  you selected will be able to play world of warcraft, but you'll see pretty poor performance with the integrated graphics adapter.

spending $100 to $150 isn't the high end - that's more mid-range. people who are looking to run truly demanding games often spend upwards of $200 to $300 on graphics alone.

for the machine you selected, upgrading to a discrete graphics card would result in a much better gaming experience. in terms of overal quality for an asus, i would assume you'll be very satisfied with the machine. i've used many asus laptops in my time, and many of the desktop machines i've built used asus motherboards.

Re: considering ASUS

the X4500 seems to average around 20-60 FPS in WoW. Depending on settings. It should be fine for games like WoW and runescape.

That's the Intel graphics chipset.

Re: considering ASUS

If it's an AMD machine you should be fine because they come with decent ATI cards when compared with the Intel ones. If it's Intel you may want to add a discrete card until they get their integrated act together.
