common folder

I need help, when I turn my pc on a common folder comes up and there is nothing in the folder. It started about a month ago when I put my usb drive in my pc to download my photos. I try to delete it but it will not. The only way I can rid of it is to close it. I just would like to know why this folder always comes up at the start up of my pc. It looks just like the folder that has my pictures, but no photos. It has view as slideshow, print, ect. on the left side of the folder. Please advise.

Define "common folder" please.

Do you mean a folder icon is showing up on your desktop? A folder is open in a window?
