This site has a downloadable removal program and the instructions to manually remove it.

Generally when I have to fix a computer (friends or familes) I just wipe the drive clean and start over with a fresh install of the OS. Usually the computers are so full of garbage when they bring them to me that wiping and reinstalling is the fastest and easiest solution.
