I bought this today with my school discount. Im toally impressed for $64.95. By the way. The Vista Basic SP1 DVD Worked with the product key that I had. Ive learned that all versions of Vista are on one DVD. Its the product key that determines the features you get.
With that said, I downloaded my (RED) extras, and even got my ultimate extras, and this is a cool operating system!

Extra Graphics, themes, screensavers and wallpapers all to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS in Africa. And for the unique purchase situation I was in , since I was a student, Microsoft will donate $10 of my purchase to help raise this awareness to this country and stop the spread.

ah, very cool. i have a number of friends that work at GAP, and they're pretty big into the whole (red) campaign. i'm glad to see a player as large as microsoft jump in the game.

Maybe Dell will hop on board the Red thing with their Studio laptops :-P
I personally always liked how Sony had the pink Vaios that cost more than the other colors of the same model, but they donated the extra to the Susan G Komen charity.

I never really liked the campaign at all. I'd rather donate it myself, as I see these sort of initiatives as a "Hey, look at me, I donated! I'm a good person!" thing.
