I have a HP Media Center PC M7360N. Under my computer information it says;
Card Name; NVIDIA GeForce 6200SE TurboCache.
Chip type: GeForce 6200SE TurboCache:
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
I just bought an ACER monitor that has a HDMI input on it. I would like to buy a graphics card that has a HDMI output on it.
I'm not sure what to look for. Can anyone give me any advice?
Thanks,
Don

That HDMI port is there for the monitor to be used as a TV. A computer would use the DVI port on the monitor.
Judging by the computer, I'm guessing you don't do all that much with it. Any video card you buy should have DVI output. Actually, your current video card should have a DVI output. Does it?

It only has a VGA output.

Then I'd look at something in the low end 8000 series. They should all have DVI output. The 8800GT/GTS is a very good choice, it'll run you around $100.

OK. Thanks for your help. I'll check that out.

You said the 8800GT/GTS. Could you give me just a little more information. I'm new at this. Is this the model number? Is there a particular brand? On BestBuy.com under SEARCH for keyword or item # I entered 8800GT/GTS and it didn't find anything. Could you please tell me what to search for.
Thanks,
Don

You need to upgrade the power supply. A 300-watt box won't really handle any decent card with what you already have in there. What are you looking for in a graphics card other than HDMI? If you just need a low-end card with HDMI, then there are plenty of options for you that won't cost an arm and a leg.

He doesn't need HDMI, he needs DVI.
