What and How to Replace a Graphics Card?

My computer isn't just any PC with the huge, old-style motherboards that stay on the side of the computer. Mine isn't any laptop either. It is, wow omg look at this holy, an HP 22" TouchSmart which basically looks like this a flat screen TV for children to look at. No big, steel or whatever motherboard on the side. Just a flat, HDTV looking kind of thing.

So like, the graphics card they provide to you when you buy it? Yeah, TOTALLY SUCKS. SRSLY. So, I'm thinking of getting a new graphics card that will be GREAT for gaming, but won't burn like it's in flames. Anyone know any good ones? If so, please also provide information on how the heck(ll) I'm supposed to change the graphics card on a computer like MINE. For example:

Where do I open it from?

How?

Where is the Graphics Card located?

Etc.

If anyone has that computer.... please tell me the graphics card you would recommend and how you would go about to change that graphics card provided! THANK YOU! Lots!

Re: What and How to Replace a Graphics Card?

Hello to you, too, HELLO2U!

Welcome to our forums.  I know that these All-In-One desktops are a great space-saving option for general-use (like email, internet, solitaire, photos – some even have TV).  They are not usually a customer’s first choice for higher-end gaming because the upgrade ability is limited to RAM and Hard Drive.  I looked into HP’s upgrade guide and other supporting documents. These computers usually have integrated video chips on a compact-style motherboard and would therefore require an entire overhaul to achieve that upgrade. I would recommend contacting HP at 1-800-HPINVENT (800-474-6836) for further upgrade questions to your specific model. You can also visit http://www.hp.com/support. If you are still within the 14-day return/exchange policy you can look at other types of desktops to meet your unique needs. Hope this helps!

Re: What and How to Replace a Graphics Card?

hp touchscreens have graphics card that's solder on the motherboard. removing it and actually finding a higher-end chipset won't be easy and will cost you a lot of money. i hope u're still within your 30 return policy. exchange for a computer that will actually play games. (my recommendation is to get a gateway FX desktop, or any computer u want that has Intel Core 2 Duo with graphic card upgrade to 9800gtx, or see if the best buy store around you still have the 8800gt oc or 8600 gt with 1gb ram.)
