I happened to stumble across a fairly new Macbook Pro 15 for a very good price. It has the black tie protection plan includeing accidental damage. What i am trying to figure out is how to transfer the warranty over to my name.  Can someone please help?

I believe you would have to go into a BB to do this, most likely with both people present.

Hey bigmack0507,

There are three different ways that transfer of ownership requests can be processed: by phone, by mail, or at your local Best Buy® store. In all three cases, however, the request should be made by the original owner of the product and service plan. Here’s what we would need:

• The service plan brochure number to be transferred
• The Customer Service PIN from the receipt showing the purchase of the service plan
• The new owner’s name (first and last)
• The new owner’s phone number
• The new owner’s address

Best Buy’s contact information (phone number and mailing address) can be found on the Contact Us page of BestBuy.com, but please note that all requests by mail or phone may take 2-3 business days to be processed once they have been received.

It would have been really helpful had the sentence:

could have read:

the PSP number

it would have saved me an hour of phone calls and searches to find out what a "service plan brochure number" is only to find out all I had to do was look on the receipt for the numbers following "PSP" and I would be in business. Hope this post helps someone else who runs into the same problem. Even the people I called had a hard time figuring out what that sentence meant.
