Hello:

I just purchased an Asus EPC900HDB and so far love it, but I seem to be at a loss to find the WLAN utility for the Realtek 8187SE drivers it came with. Googling comes up with driver packs but no utility included or none that I can see.

I don't mind using the Windows network configurer but would rather have a front-end WLAN utility.

Can anyone help or point me in the dirrection of it?

Hello lowriseflow!

The wireless driver I found on ASUS's support site includes the utility you are looking for.  Click here to go directly to the EPC900HD's downloads.  It will ask you what operating system you are using.  I assume you are using XP, then it is located under the Wireless tab.  Download from global, it will be faster.

Hi, Jacob:

I'm getting ISA errors from either mirror I download from. Do you know of any other places I can grab this?

It seems the netbook came with the driver but the utility is missing. I'm so confused.

I am able to download it from global.  There might be some policy on your network or computer preventing a download from their servers.  This is typical on company or public connections.  Try downloading it from some other connection.

I've downloaded it, uninstalled the drivers, installed this one and still ... no Wireless client. It's throwing WLAN utility into my realtek audio folder in C:\ProgramFfiles. There are no options to install the utility while I'm installing the drivers. Any more suggestions?

Yes there is one more thing you can try.

1. Find the WLAN.zip file you downloaded.  Right click and extract all files to folder, choose where.
2. Open up the extracted folder and find the file called IsConfig.ini, open in notepad.
3. Under "[SupportOSUI] ;Supported platforms for RtWlan Utility" find your operating system and change the 0 to 1.  (Example: WinXP=1)
4. File > Save
5. Run setup.exe

Hopefully now it will install the utility.
