USB 3.0 and HP desktop?

I have a HP P6210Y Desktop running Windows 7 and I want to add USB 3.0 capabilities. Will a Buffalo Technology - 2-port USB 3.0 PCI Express Card Adapter work on my system?

Re: USB 3.0 and HP desktop?

I got one of these devices to speed up my backup.

  • it's ugly to have such a large thing sticking out the side of a laptop
  • doing safe disconnect may be impossible.  Need to power down the laptop

I've had to ask, XL, what's your obsession with the unordered list button?

xl; the card in question is an internal PCI express card for a desktop; nothing will be sticking out ouf the back of the computer.

Re: USB 3.0 and HP desktop?

I just installed a Rocket Fish version. Install was straight forward, took about 2 minutes. I'll test it out tomorrow.
