Hello,
I am currently a junior in College and in desperate need to purchase a new laptop. I am really leaning towards a 15" Macbook Pro...however we all know that Macs are a TAD BIT pricey. There are numerous websites and blogs comparing MACs and a PCs...and although I absolutely love the Macbook Pro...I need to know straight up if it is really worth the money over a regular PC laptop.
I know there will always be those people who are strongly for or against one of the two and I will ultimately have to make the decision for myself.
My main concern with the Mac is whether I will be able to go from using a pc all of my life to using a Mac. I am stuck in the middle but need to hurry and make a decision before I end up through my current laptop out the window.
Thanks!

I would love to own a mac book pro. It would be a new enviroment for me as I have always used windows based computers.
Macs are great for someone who wants to do web stuff, making videos, desktop publishing and the secure feeling of not having to worry so much about viruses.
Macs are not a good choice for gaming. Gaming on a mac is extremely limited. Gaming on any laptop is not really a good choice.
Macs are alot more expensive than a windows based laptop. You could get alot more computer with a windows based laptop.

While everyone says get a mac this , get a mac that, I saw something online that I downloaded in the past and its Mac inspired for the basic everyday tasks you want to do, and it doesnt cost a dime! Heres a link to it:

You might also want to look at Ubuntu Linux and see if it works well for you.

You can do anything with any computer.
I'm partial to Windows. Always have, probably always wiill be. I can run more things on my XP machine that a machine running OSX can. I can tweak. I like tweaking things around. For the average person, the ease of use is worth the premium that Mac provides. I don't need it. So I save my money and build myself PC's.

Given that I can often be seen hollering through the halls of Best Buy’s corporate campus, “We need Macs,” hopefully my boss doesn’t see this reply. I live on my work PC. At home I have a Mac. One nice feature about Macs is that they can run Windows. This allows me to run software I’ve had for years, meaning I save money by not having to buy Mac versions for some programs.
As you point out Macs are more expensive than PCs. I suggest you determine what features and programs you are looking to us on the computer. If you don’t need a Mac, then save some cash and go for the PC.
