Suggestions for a gaming laptop

So I am curious about buying a laptop that can handle games, even if it is at the lowest available setting. The sims 3 would a great game to base the requirements off of. I am willing to spend up to about 1000$ but would really like to go cheaper than that.

Just wait until the end of the year. The new tech that comes out this year is going to be far more gamer-friendly at lower costs than what is available now. You'll be able to get a decent laptop for a good price and then add external graphics to handle your gaming as needed with Intel's Thunderbolt or you can buy a laptop with great integrated graphics from AMD's new Fusion CPU/GPU technology that will give you great bang for your buck.

Re: Suggestions for a gaming laptop

for gaming, you can't go wrong with Alienware ...

I know it's a bit out of your price range, but keep an eye out for those 10% off coupons you get in the mail and it'll bring the price just under $1000 like you're looking for.

I'm personally getting the M17X very soon and this is after a good solid couple of weeks researching different laptops for gaming.  Although I'm also going with this because I have like $300 in best buy gift cards to help lower my out-of-pocket cost.

I really try not to put down other brands, but I'd never purchase an AlienWare, completely overpriced for the name.

Unfortunately, that's the bad luck of any electronic, there's going to be bad Apples... wait that's a horrible pun.
