Well, if you purchased it with your credit card, go in with your bill, that will give them the day of the charge and your credit card number. They should be able to find the reciept with that information. Ask to talk to a front end leader or an operations manager.

Thanks, that makes sense, but why couldn't someone from the store help me ? I've called them, talked to them & even stopped by & asked costumer service.

Honestly, I can't speak for those at the store. You may have talked to seasonal help who although can be trained in their departments may not have the expertise to provide such a solution. Go to the store and do the following:
If you need to you can hand the associate this post if you don't feel comfortable with asking for such a thing. Hope this solves your issue.

I've done just that & voila, I got a proof of purchase printed in the store. The world is changing thanks to Twelpforce member David-BBY ![]()

I don't think that you need to go to the store. I did, because it's easier than talking to them or waiting for email. Looks like they're busy & not equally trained. I had the right info. w/me plus my twitter printout. The store could fax you or email you the proof of purchase as attachment. It takes perseverence. Good luck.

Well, not all is lost. Have the customer who bought you the gift give their local store a call or visit. They can get your info from the laptop and have it sent to their house with their receipt information and then send it to you after they receive it. Sadly, I know most of those win7 redeeming sites don't go out of the US. Good luck!

Please explain "get info from your laptop" ???
What kind of info? And how? By my serial number or product number?

Whatever info is asked for whatever brand of laptop you purchased. Different companies ask for different information. You will have to go to their respective website. You'll most likely need your receipt, your Serial Number of your computer and your mailing address at a minimum.
