Just bought two laptops and need to install new anti virus software, do I need to delete the existing Norton anti virus first ?

Re: New laptops

Yes you do. Uninstall the current antivirus by going to Conrtol panels -> Programs

Although I am employed by Geek Squad my opinions do not in any way shape or form represent Best Buy's Official stance on matters. My opinions are solely my own.

Re: New laptops

Yes. Click on the Start Menu in the bottom left corner -> Type appwiz.cpl in the search box right above it and hit enter. Find Norton in the list and double click to remove it. Install your AV software afterwards removing Norton and restarting your computer.

Re: New laptops

Don't know why you want to unistall Norton, it is by far the best protection you can have.  But, since you want to uninstall it, Use the Norton Uninstaller tool:

Re: New laptops

I would just max out the trial version of Norton and then get Norton 360 with includes a firewall and performance tuning features.

Re: New laptops

I am partial to Norton Internet Security, it has all the same security with a leaner footprint, and don't need or use the tune up features as I use other utilities that are better (CCleaner, Defraggler, etc).

Re: New laptops

To let you know why you need to uninstall it; having 2 antivirus/firewalls will create conflicts between the 2 that will affect lots of other software/components
